They are putting out a special collector's issue tomorrow that has the best 500 songs of all time. Most of it is grounded in the 60's and 70's but some also in the 2000s decade.

*** Enjoy a funny story explaining the whole meaning of life and how our life spans came to be.






The World Explanation


On the first day God created the cow. God said, "You must go to field with the farmer all day long and suffer under the sun, have calves and give milk to support the farmer. I will give you a life span of sixty years."

The cow said, "That's a kind of a tough life you want me to live for sixty years. Let me have twenty years and I'll give back the other forty."

And God agreed.

On the second day, God created the dog. God said, "Sit all day by the door of your house and bark at anyone who comes in or walks past. I will give you a life span of twenty years."

The dog said, "That's too long to be barking. Give me ten years and I'll give back the other ten."

So God agreed (sigh).

On the third day God created the monkey. God said, "Entertain people, do monkey tricks, make them laugh. I'll give you a twenty year life span." Monkey said, "How boring, monkey tricks for twenty years? I don't think so. Dog gave you back ten, so that's what I'll do too, okay?"

And God agreed again.

On the fourth day God created man. God said, "Eat, sleep, play, have sex, enjoy. Do nothing, just enjoy, enjoy. I'll give you twenty years."

Man said, "What? Only twenty years? No way man. Tell you what, I'll take my twenty, and the forty cow gave back, and the ten dog gave back and the ten monkey gave back. That makes eighty, okay?"

"Okay," said God. "You've got a deal."

So that is why for the first twenty years we eat, sleep, play, have sex, enjoy, and do nothing; for the next forty years we slave in the sun to support our family; for the next ten years we do monkey tricks to entertain our grandchildren; and for the last ten years we sit in front of the house and bark at everybody.

Outrageous: Graduation Debt Cartoons - 22 May 2010

From Denny: All across America this month thousands of college kids are graduating into a weaker than rain water job market. The joke is when the dean hands the graduate his new diploma it's shaped like a stick of dynamite and with a lit fuse. The dean shakes the hand of the new graduate and says, "Congratulations! By the way, you now owe $120,000. Good luck on figuring out how to pay your bills. Have a nice life."

This is the first generation to be saddled with so much outrageous debt when they graduate. It's like paying a house note and you are homeless. They can thank President Bush and how he dumped all the student loan programs. What that did is throw all the college expenses back into the laps of middle class parents. And people voted Republican... why???

Bush threw all kinds of expenses onto the backs of the middle class and back to the local levels. He took away so much shared financing from a centralized government that people are taxed up to their eyeballs on the local and state levels. But hey, the Republicans are all for lower taxes. Who in the world is actually dumb enough to believe that crazy mantra anymore after the economy has demonstrated otherwise?

Everyone in America should have a reasonable expectation of receiving a college degree at a reasonable cost. The only way for America to pull out of the math and science cellar is to get serious about the importance of education. It's time we start finding ways to pay for the middle class to go to school - without incurring so much debt before they even get started on their careers.

From Denny: This sure has been quite the week with the drama unfolding out in the Gulf of Mexico with the BP oil spill off my Louisiana coast. The cartoonists have had great fun lampooning the various lies and finger pointing from the CEOs involved. The better news is that BP is finally making a bit of headway on corralling some of the oil for clean up, siphoning it into a tanker.

Some headway is better than nothing and at least it has slowed down the rate of gushing oil and natural gas for the moment. Definitely better than using an atomic bomb to blow up the well like the crazy Russians suggested. There's a plan. Nuke the Gulf of Mexico and irradiate the ocean waters for the next thousand years. Fortunately, BP and the government are contemplating lesser crazy options.

As a result of the oil spill there are countless great political cartoons and funny videos by the likes of Colbert to enjoy. And Betty White was the toast of late night TV on SNL after turning in some hilarious performances. She then proceeded to go out all night carousing with the SNL cast after the show. She's almost 89 years old and there's no time to waste for having fun! :)

Funny Video: Cover Up Your Sex Scandal With A New Batch Of Euphemisms

From Denny: Well, here you have it with the comics laughing about how the religious hypocrites just keep on giving to the world of comedy. Recently, Protestant minister, George Rekers, was caught in a gay prostitute scandal. Of course, this guy is publicly homophobic and a political crusader against homosexuals.

Also, he has been found to be traveling with a young muscled guy from Rentboy.com. Rekers claimed it's a reputable site and he hired the guy to carry his luggage. You see Rekers also claims that since some mysterious unnamed operation he was rendered unable to "carry his luggage." Well, you know, Kimmel - and any other self-respecting comic - ran with that euphemism! Watch as Kimmel creates yet new euphemisms to mislead and confuse the public... :)

Funny Video: Betty White, SNL Golden Girls Lampoon Lawrence Welk Show

From Denny: Betty White is quite the hit this week after her appearance on SNL via a facebook campaign. Here she is with the likes of fellow famous comics as a comedy godmother to Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Ana Gasteyer, Molly Shannon, Maya Rudolph, and Rachel Dratch.

This recurring sketch is a Lawrence Welk Show lampoon of his ultra syrupy tame entertainment show. It's supposed to be honoring Mothers Day and, of course, Betty White plays the mother. Of her four daughters, one is, shall we say, "socially inappropriate." :)

From Denny: This sure has been a wild ride for the news, the BP oil spill attempt at clean-up, the crazy British election and the huge sudden drop in the stock market. I gathered some of the better stories over at Dennys Global Politics.

You just have to read about the odd new health stories about empathy nasal spray for men and the strange neck treatment for PTSD relief. And the political cartoons were out in full force as social commentary on it all so you know I just had to park a number of those posts on several blogs for Saturday! :)

Times Square Terrorist Bomber: Political Cartoons 8 May 2010

From Denny: No matter what is going on in America and the world our cartoonists manage to create comments that expose the hypocrisy of politicians or the insanity of a latest trend. Insanity at its worst and most destructive to society is terrorism. Of course, the true heroes here were just a couple of regular guys who noticed something was amiss and alerted police to investigate. A great cartoon celebrating them really says it all.

Like so many people I have no sympathy for terrorists, especially when, like this one, they were so insensitive to place a bomb outside a gathering place for children. How cowardly can you get? If they want to truly protest a government then they would target military installations not civilian.

Of course, none of this is really about protesting but rather about being criminals and psychopaths who enjoy killing. There's a reason why here in the West we don't intermarry with our first cousins and our sisters like the Middle East still practices to this day from a centuries old custom. It's called inbreeding that creates insanity. Too small of a gene pool really explains the Middle Eastern issues.

The Middle East problems will never get resolved until their governments get serious about instituting programs to widen their gene pool for the next generations. Either that or the West had better start researching a new sanity bomb that does not kill but rather releases a gas to spread out into the entire population to right their brain chemicals.
