16 Funny Blissful Sleepers Photos

From Denny: Writing posts requires good photos, right? Got a little over inspired yesterday and went through over 2,500 photos over at flickr for my Cheeky Quote Day post at The Social Poets. It also took 9 hours to pull the post together, whew! Well, as long as I was at it I thought I might as well share on this blog too.

These are the best photos from the Creative Commons area, some who made the cut for the larger post and those who didn't. I loved them all! :) From animals to people we all have sleep in common. And the way we look while we sleep sometimes... soft and sweet to just plain silly. Take a look!

Joke: You Have So Got the Wrongest Number!

From Denny: This site always records funny customer service experiences. How do you like the wild photo I found somewhere on the web, maybe StumbleUpon or photobucket? (where rarely do they give the authors' names) If you know the name of the photographer or the person who photoshoped it, drop me a line so I can give them attribution...

You’ve Got The Wrong(est) Number

Call Center - Chatsworth, CA, USA

From: Not Always Right

(Note: our customer support number is close to a local driving school’s number.)

Me: “Thank you for calling. How may I help you?”

Customer: “How much for my daughter?”

Me: “Um…”

Customer: “She’s 16. It’s her first time. She needs training.”

Me: “Sir, I think you want the driving school.”

Customer: “Oh, what do you guys do?”

Me: “Adult websites.”

Customer: “Oh…OH! Oh my God!”

Weird News Video: Middle Aged Guy Puts Elderly Parents for Sale on Craigslist

From Denny: There's nothing like putting your parents up for sale to get the conversation started like this guy did! This news story sounds like a tutorial on how to do it. What started as a fun idea snowballed into a sensation. I can only imagine what his parents told their son off camera ... :)

Obnoxious Joke: Camel Questions

Our CamelsImage by Neil Carey via Flickr

A mother and baby camel are talking one day when the baby camel asks, "Mom, why have I got these huge three toed feet?"

The mother replies, "Well son, when we trek across the desert your toes will help you to stay on top of the soft sand."
"Okay," says the son.

A few minutes later the son asks, "Mom, why have I got these great long eyelashes?"

"They are there to keep the sand out of your eyes on the trips through the desert."

"Thanks Mom," replies the son.

After a short while, the son returns and asks, "Mom, why have I got these great big humps on my back??"

His mother replies impatiently, "They are there to help us store water for our long treks across the desert."

"That's great Mom. So we have huge feet to stop us sinking, and long eyelashes to keep the sand from our eyes, and these humps to store water, but Mom..."

"Yes, son?"

"Do we really need all of these in the zoo?"

Video: 7 of 9 Worst Products of All Time - Facial Flex Exerciser

From Denny: OK, I need to create a Creepy Category because this really is! Ewwww! Definitely one of those kinds of bizarre devices the S & M fetish folks would perversely enjoy...

These ad people must be getting paid a lot of money to promote this weirdness. Conversation when ad guy comes home at night for dinner, wife calls out from the kitchen, "Hi, honey! What did you do today at work?" Husband calls back, "Oh, nothing really special, just promoting some exercise equipment to a chain of fetish stores. What's for dinner?"

Save yourself the $30 and just put on the TV, watch a funny movie and laugh a lot - same muscles they are claiming to exercise!

From Denny: Entertaining, unusual and just plain odd! Amusing, harmless and there is no way it is what it appears to be. Some great visual effects though, enjoy!

Ouch Category: Kids' Ideas About Church

From Denny: Kid missayings are always available for a good laugh. This came from an email sent this week. Thanks, Merle Ann!

KIDS IN CHURCH

***** Three-year-old Reese praying out loud: "Our Father, Who does art in heaven, Harold is His name. Amen."

***** A little boy was overheard praying: "Lord, if you can't make me a better boy, don't worry about it. I'm having a real good time like I am!"

***** After the christening of his baby brother in church, Jason sobbed all the way home in the back seat of the car. His father asked him three times what was wrong. Finally, the boy replied, "That preacher said he wanted us brought up in a Christian home, and I wanted to stay with you guys!"

***** A mother was preparing pancakes for her sons, Kevin, 5, and Ryan, 3. The boys began to argue over who would get the first pancake.

Their mother saw the opportunity for a moral lesson.

If Jesus were sitting here, He would say, "Let my brother have the first pancake, I can wait."

Kevin turned to his younger brother and said, "Ryan, you be Jesus!"

Don't you just love their honesty? :)

Ouch Category: Little Boys Dilemma at School

Yo soy un pirata!Image by Tar.Digital via Flickr

From Denny: Just received this funny OUCH email from friend Merle Ann over at HubPages! She comes up with the wildest things. It's slightly off color so if you are sensitive, stop now. Of course, for all the rest of you reprobates, this warning only makes you want to read further! :)

*****

For all of you in education, or those with sons, grandsons, or who just love the things little kids say ~ a reminder, adult words are often taken literally...

*****

A teacher noticed that a little boy at the back of the class was squirming around, scratching his crotch, and not paying attention.

She went back to find out what was going on.

He was quite embarrassed and whispered that he had just recently been circumcised and he was quite itchy.

The teacher told him to go down to the principal's office.

He was to telephone his mother and ask her what he should do about it. He did and returned to his class.

Suddenly, there was a commotion at the back of the room.

She went back to investigate only to find him sitting at his desk with his 'private part' hanging out.

“I thought I told you to call your mom!” she said.

“I did,” he said, “And she told me that if I could stick it out till noon, she'd come and pick me up from school.”

Trivia and Oh! Genius Comments

From Denny: And now for the most unimportant Trivia you will ever read followed by Oh! Genius Comments - also completely unnecessary which is why they are termed "genius"... and are copyrighted, stupidity is brilliant and a real money-maker, agreed everyone?! ;)

AN ESKIMO FAMILY. Tenderness and responsibilit...Image via Wikipedia

Eskimos use refrigerators to keep food from freezing.

* Talk about the downright bizarre. Enough said...

Gnat!Image by Alireza Teimoury via Flickr

Did you know that a tiny gnat flaps its wings 1,000 times a second?

* This is revealed strictly on a "need to know" basis. File this into your short-term memory banks as there might be a flash test at the end of this post and you sure don't want to look stupid!

Pork rinds in bags, from the central United StatesImage via Wikipedia

Did you know that beetles taste like apples, wasps like pine nuts and white worms like fried pork rinds?

* Don't look at me! I don't dine in the same circles as these folks, so we will just have to take their word for it. Can you imagine walking down the grocery store aisle to see fried white worms in the same area as potato chips? I wonder if white worms go well with jalapeno bean dip... do I hear a lowly murmured "Yum!" out there in the cyber darkness?

A hummingbird at :en:CrocosmiaImage via Wikipedia

The hum of a hummingbird comes from the super-fast beat of the wings. The smallest ones beat their wings the fastest, up to 80 times per second.

* In rush hour traffic don't you just wish you could glue a couple of these guys onto your car and "get above the fray" - arriving home at a reasonable hour? I know, I know: Dream on!

Three banded Armadillo Tolypeutes matacusImage via Wikipedia

Some armadillos spend up to 80% of their lives sleeping or dozing.

*OK, I'm really concerned about the priorities of these researchers and why MY federal tax dollars are earmarked for these studies. C'mon, you can actually get paid to watch armadillos sleep around the clock? Sign me up for that paycheck!

Posting Problems

From Denny: Sunday, Monday and Tuesday have been difficult times to try and post anything. Not sure why. Could be global internet traffic is highest on Tuesdays and Wednesdays (Monday and Tuesday in American time zone). Could be the computer worm going around driving servers insane courtesy of hacker jerks that are probably mostly comprised of intelligence community guys from countries all over the world.

What I have managed to post has gotten scrambled from time to time. Sorry for the inconvenience. I always go back to proof read and catch the errors, usually within minutes of posting. Lightning storms in my area haven't helped that process and have been delayed. If you see something I didn't catch within a day or two, please feel free to let me know as it would be much appreciated!

KKK member tries to get into Heaven

Picked up this cartoon somewhere along the way cruising the web. It made me laugh at how expectations are often met with reality like a pail of cold water thrown in your face. The fact that Obama is now President only makes me laugh the harder, especially since as a white kid who opposed the KKK when we first moved to Virginia all those years ago.

I still remember the death threats for speaking the truth. After they threatened me, I go so angry with them, I got louder and went on a crusade to turn everyone in my class (8th grade)away from that kind of stinking thinking that anyone else is supposed to put up with being a second class citizen in their own country.

Some people put up with bullying and others take to beating up on the bullies. At the time I was the size of a gnat but thought nothing of it to take on any injustice. There really is something to be said for mental toughness and daily perseverance.

BTW, guess what, most of them came around to my kind of thinking! And those few who didn't quit acting like jerks, at least in public. They finally started to question the hate their parents had been teaching them. They also suddenly realized there were outnumbered by people willing to speak against them and that really scared them.
